Committees are where the real work of the West Texas Home Builders Association happens. Serving on a committee is one of the most impactful ways to shape the future of our association, support the building industry, and strengthen our voice in the community. WTHBA offers three ways to get involved: Standing Committees, which are open to all members and work year-round on focused operational goals; Event Committees, which are formed around specific events and meet as needed to deliver high-impact experiences; and Appointed Committees, where members may express interest for potential appointment in accordance with association policies and bylaws. We encourage members to sign up early to ensure you receive committee communications and opportunities to engage. This page outlines each committee, its purpose, and expectations for service—because when our members show up, WTHBA moves forward.

What's the difference between Committees & Councils?

Committees are typically focused on specific operational tasks or event planning within the association. They offer members opportunities to engage directly with the association's activities and contribute to its success. Participation on committees is open to members who wish to contribute their time and expertise to specific projects or events. So no matter how much time you have to spare or what area's you're interested in, there is a spot for you at the WTHBA table!

Councils, on the other hand, are more strategic in nature, often centered around specific professional groups or industry segments, and include their own dues structure. They provide a platform for members to collaborate on broader initiatives, share insights, and influence the direction of the association.
