THE BIRTH OF AN ASSOCIATION! - 1948! Lubbock is a new city just emerging from World War II. People are moving to Lubbock with ambition and money. On May 13, 1948 a nucleus of builders, suppliers, and "sub's" join together to charter the "Home Builders Association of Lubbock" with the National Association of Home Builders. Did they know then that they were starting a relationship of competitors working together for a common goal: to protect & improve the building industry?
 

The West Texas Home Builders Association boasts an all time high membership. Its Board of Directors is one of vast experience and commitment. Builders are not just contractors, they are friends, they are neighbors, they are elected officials, they are civic and charity volunteers.
